About Me

Behind the Stage

One thing that I am very passionate about is my love for theatre. While I don't do much of it right now in college all throughout my childhood and in high school it was the thing I spent the most time doing outside of classes. I started theatre when in 2012 when I was 10 and loved being on the stage singing, dancing, and acting. Since it was a community theatre they would count on parents volunteering to help along the way. My mom being crafty and knowing how to sew always helped with props and costumes. I would always help her with everything from gluing pieces together, painting a set, or being her own personal model for costume pieces as she worked on them.
Once I got into high school I wanted to do both; be on stage and help with everything behind the scenes. I would always ask my director what I could do to help until I became her offical right hand man and became her stage manager. I loved being the stage manager for our school plays and ended up enjoying it more than being on the stage. I would create so many fun props, painted so many different scene and set pieces, and running around during the performances making sure everything went smooth. I still remember all the funny yet stressful moments we had through our headsets so we could communicate. If I could choose to do anything in life I would've gone to school to be a stage manager but with how hard a performance art caeer path is I decied to go a different direction. I hope one day to get back into it.

Out of My Comfort Zone

Back in high school I was a very quiet kid. I was usually found chilling by myself and doing my own thing. I did'nt go out much and mostly stayed at home. With that I did not have many friends in high school so when it came to moving to college I was both excited yet scared for what was to come being in a brand new environment with a ton of new random people.
I knew my biggest challege coming to stout was finding friends and pushing myself to be more social. If that on its own wasn't difficult enough it was also during covid right as we were allowed to come back to school. Everything was shurt down so I couldn't go to Price Commons and sit and talk to new people, or make a friend in class since everything was still online. No one would hangout in the common areas in the dorms but somehow I found a way around it. One of the first days I saw our building had a discord channel so people could talk. At the time the game Among Us was quite popular so one night I joined a group of random people and started playing with them. After that we all got each other socials and started to find ways to hang out. We would make banana bread in the common area kitchen together and slowly as we all met more people the group got pretty big! I am so glad I decied to branch out and join that one voice call.
